Back In't Day My Pictures fly uk mia REunion 2011

After leaving Thames Road secondary modern school, Blackpool in 1958, my first job was as an apprentice storeman at R & F Gradwell's Garage on Waterloo Rd. (I hated it) and consequently at just 15 years and 8 months I joined the Royal Engineers Junior Leaders Regt.( 'C' squadron , Old Park Barracks,Dover.) on 9th January 1959. Travelling by train to Old Park Barracks in Dover, on my first day I missed breakfast and was late on Parade!!! Ha! those were the days!!.
I served two years in the Junior Leaders and nine years in the Regular Army, serving in Germany and Aden.
After leaving the Royal Engineers I worked for Fox Brothers as a Plant Operater for about six months and then joined Lancashire Police in July 1970, just after getting married to Carol. I left the UK in October of 1975 emigrating to Canada.  We settled l in Mississauga, Ontario, which is16 miles west of Toronto. I joined the Metropolitan Toronto Police and served with them for seven years. We returned to the UK in 1982 where we took up residence in Darwen, near Blackburn. I worked for Initial Electronic Security and took early retirement in 2000. I have two sons, Conrad and Peter. Conrad is married with two children, Reece and Kelsey. Peter completed an apprenticship with BA Systems, as a maintenance engineer before joining Lancashire police, following in his brothers' (and mine) footsteps. Peter played ice hockey with the Blackburn junior development and the senior team, Blackburn Hawks.

I was elected to Blackburn with Darwen Council in May 2007as the Conservative councillor for Meadowhead Ward in Blackburn,  re-elected in 2010, and this now takes up a lot of my time, very enjoyable it is too.
Thats about it in a nutshell...I just need to win the lottery now.
